The Program - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a full screen commercial?
A: From the top of the movie screen 80% down to the bottom is what we consider a full screen commercial with sound

Q: What is a Banner?
A: From the bottom of the movie screen 20% going up is what we call a Banner. This has no sound but can fade, blink, dissolve, roll, scroll or just be a static advertisement.

Q: What is a Whole Screen Commercial?
A: From left to right and top to bottom it is 100% of the movie screen with sound.

Q: If I am an advertiser and I purchase a Full Screen Commercial and not the Banner, what plays under my Full Screen Commercial?
A: The Banner would belong to the theatre owner (Exhibitor) or to WideScreen Media. We will never sell two advertisers on the same screen at the same time.

Q: Does that mean if I buy the Banner the Full Screen Commercial above would belong to the theatre or to WideScreen Media?
A: Yes!

Q: Is the Advertising Program Automated?
A: Yes, the program is automated to the movie projector and to the box office.

Q: How can an Advertiser use a Full Screen Commercial and a Banner together to keep their message current and minimize production costs?
A: The elaborate Live Action Commercial presents the information that will not change, while the banner is used to present information about current specials, real estate listings, lending rates, seasonal schedules or other information the Advertiser identifies as being subject to change.

Note: Multiple Banners can also be used to good advantage with the same Full Screen Commercial when its played multiple times in the preshow lineup.

Q: If I purchase both full screen and banner, how often can I change out the banner?
A: As often as you wish! (Each banner change has an associated networking and production fee)

Q: What is the networking charge?
A: Without networking we would not have the ability to accomodate client and change out our program on a daily basis. It is a hard cost to us and we pass a small amount of this cost back to you.

Q: Can the advertiser run on a specific rated movie?
A: Yes, we would allow the advertiser to pick the rating and charge by attendance CPM (Cost Per Thousand)

Q: How long is the local program?
A: It is a 24 minute looped program automated to the movie projector and to the box office and will start 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of the movie.

Q: Can an Advertiser be guaranteed to be played right in front of the previews?
A: Yes, this is called Premiere Placement and is charged by the attendance CPM (Cost Per Thousand)

Q: If I have a cable commercial, can we use this?
A: Yes and No. A made for TV commercial is square (4 x 3) and a movie screen is rectangular (16 x 9). We might be able to convert your commercial into a WideScreen commercial. When you are watching TV and a movie comes on, it says "This TV Movie has been modified to fit your TV". What they are telling you is they cut off 35% from both sides of the movie so the movie can fit the 4 x 3 ratio. It makes better economic and creative sense to have WideScreen Creative Services create a spot for you that you can use on the movie screen, and we will convert it to TV use at no extra charge!
